Knowing Nicotine Effects

Many people think they believe they know the causes of smoking, but in fact it varies greatly from smoker to smoker. Not many people know the nicotine effects that are happening to them while smoking, most seem to think that the only reason they continue to smoke is because of the physical addiction. In actual fact the nicotine effects have on the body is very powerful, but it can affect everyone differently. Some smokers continue not only because of the physical addiction, but more of the psychological one. Their dependence on cigarettes to relax can be a hard habit to stop.

For you to stop smoking, you have to understand the reasons for starting in the first place. In some cases it was when we were teenagers at school wanting to look cool with all of our friends, thinking we were grown up. It was a way of relaxing and chilling out together, not knowing the nicotine effects were already affecting our bodies and minds already becoming addicted. So this was hard to give up because my relationship with smoking was a positive one.

Hence when trying to give up the difficulty I had was breaking the habit of smoking and the nicotine effects of relaxation that I would get from smoking. Once realising my smoking habit throughout the day I would have to stop myself from lighting up because I would do it without even thinking about it. So in my case I did not have to break a physical addiction but more of a psychological addiction, I was lucky because I did not seem to suffer from cravings or withdrawal symptoms.

Once realising the cause of smoking in your life, there are plenty of tools that can help you quit. By knowing what the nicotine effect smoking has on yourself that can be a powerful first step to quitting, whether it is physical or psychological.
